Flyme 6 is the latest Android firmware from the smartphone makers “Meizu”. The OS has gained popularity ever since the launch of a new version 6. It comes as stock firmware for the Meizu devices and that is the reason for its popularity. Moreover, the new update brings some stylish yet decent looking Android OS to many smartphones.
Similar to Xiaomi’s MIUI 8, the Flyme 6 is a very attractive and colorful Android ROM. Being open source, the Flyme ROM can be ported to other Android devices as well. These manufacturers include Samsung, Xiaomi, OnePlus, Lenovo, Google Nexus, Millet, and much more. The ROM comes in the form of a custom ROM and needs to be flashed using latest TWRP recovery. You can choose to root Flyme 6 OS as well.
The only complaining we found about the Flyme 6 ROM is that it is based on older Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS. However, it is expected to receive an update to Android 7.1 Nougat soon enough. The Meizu software development team need to compile the latest AOSP sources and build a Flyme framework over it. This makes it complicated as there are many Android devices and the AOSP sources are updated every month. However, if you want to try the new Flyme 6 OS then head over to the download section below and flash it via custom recovery.
